Interior Design: Yorba Linda

Yorba Linda is a gorgeous suburban city that is 37 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. Almost 65,000 residents call Yorba Linda home, and the city is 20 square miles. Many homeowners decide to utilize the talent of our Interior Affairs design team to remodel outdated spaces in their homes, like this elegant bathroom remodel.

Short History Lesson

The 1800’s were so pivotal to the towns in California, following the Mexican/American war in 1848. Just before the war, Jose Antonio Yorba owned a large amount of land in this area, and in 1834 he granted more than 13,000 acres of it to his son Bernardo Yorba.

Fast forward to 1907, and part of the land was sold to the Janss Investment Company, which decided to call the area Yorba Linda, which means Beautiful Yorba. The land was divided up and sold for agriculture (mostly orange and lemon groves) and manufacturing. Yorba Linda at the time had only 50 residents. But things were going to change quickly. The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company came into Yorba Linda, giving its residents easier access to the outside world. The Southern California Edison Company brought electricity to the region. Critical to the citrus industry, the Pacific Electric Railway laid tracks to Yorba Linda in 1912, allowing growers to transport their crops to Los Angeles and then beyond.

Our Yorba Linda’s clients know it is a fantastic place to live. Throughout the years Yorba Linda has ranked among the best places to live in the United States. Money magazine has ranked Yorba Linda as 42nd of America’s best small cities.

So people come here because of the wonderful climate and community feel of Yorba Linda. Many of our clients have moved into treasured homes that are in need of a facelift, and that’s where we come in. Our design team at Interior Affairs can take a home you love and renovate it on the inside so that when you walk through your front door, you are so proud to call it home.

Some clients want to do several rooms at once, while others like to take it a room at a time, and we will work with you on your goals and within your budget. We can develop a perfect plan that will let you accomplish your goals in your time frame.

Once we know your design tastes and budget, you can sit back and get on with your busy life, while we make decisions about paint color, fabrics, draperies, furniture and lighting. A recent client wanted us to change a dated bathroom.

This bathroom gained new life after our design team went in to give it a luxurious update. Everything from the flooring to the cabinetry to the countertops to the tile are all brought together so the room has an elegant, cohesive feel.

We often hear from clients that they started a remodel project on their own, but it kept growing and growing and got completely out of hand with their budget. Our advice to remember:

  • You don’t have to do it all at once
  • We help you create a definitive plan so you know what to expect and when to expect it
  • We respect your time, deadlines and budget
  • You will have the room(s) of your dreams
